Solskjaer Discloses Why Liverpool’s Game Will Be Turning Point For Man United

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has disclosed that defeating Liverpool at Old Trafford would be the major turn around for the team to revive their dwindling season.

Since landing the job on a permanent basis in March, Solskjaer has won just five of 21 games in all competitions, with United managing just 18 goals in that run.

United’s last win came a month ago, a 1-0 victory over Astana in the Europa League, while their last triumph in the Premier League was way back on September 14 against Leicester

However, Solskjaer stated that he’s optimistic the team would start winning and scoring goals against Liverpool on Sunday.

“No, I’ve never felt it’s too big for me,” said Solskjaer. “I’m confident in what we’re trying to do and with my staff, I’ve been so impressed.

“Michael [Carrick], Kieran [McKenna], the coaching and improvement is there to see, but we need to start winning games, start scoring goals.

“We need to create more chances, because at the back we’ve looked solid, but we haven’t been adventurous enough, taken enough risks.

“The best teams around take more risks, do more runs and maybe the boys, when they lose confidence, they play safe and it’s my duty to say it’s not safety.”

“They’re doing well in the league, that’s for sure, but we’re looking forward to this game,” said Solskjaer.

“It’s the perfect game for the players and fans. We’ve had a tough time, a difficult time lately and I’m sure we’ll give them a good game.

“I’m just working as planned, it’s business as usual, trying to improve the team, trying to work towards something.”
