Ex-international, Dosu Joseph believes Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against the Samba Boys of Brazil in Sunday’s international friendly game in Singapore would motivate the players ahead of their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin.
Nigeria took a deserved 35th-minute lead when Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo latched onto Moses Simon’s pass, weaved past Marquinhos to slam a shot beyond Ederson for his second international goal in as many games.
Brazil leveled parity in the second half when Captain, Dani Alves’ cross from the right was headed on to the bar by Marquinhos, and Casemiro was on hand to sweep home the loose ball.
In a chat with Soccernet.ng, the Atlanta 96’ Olympic gold medalist stated that he was impressed with the overall performance of the team.
“I am impressed with the performance of the Super Eagles against Brazil in Sunday’s international friendly game,” Dosu told Soccernet.ng.
“I believe the team deserves to be commended for their resilience and determination most especially after Brazil equalized and started piling pressure on our defense. There have been some element of improvement in the team after the team’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where they finished third.
“The draw against Brazil will motivate the players ahead of their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin in November.”
