The international future of Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham is generating a lot of debate with Frank Lampard the latest name to speak on the issue.
The Chelsea duo are eligible to play for England and Nigeria but are yet to make a decision on who to play for. While they have represented England at youth level, they have not featured for the senior team at a competitive level.
Speaking to Nigerian journalist Oma Akatugba ahead of Chelsea’s champions league match against Lille, Blues manager, Frank Lampard revealed he is not in a position to tell the players on who to represent at international level.
“I don’t feel like it’s my place to tell them what to decide, I never will do with a player because I think there’s so much more that’s important for them individually and for their families to decide on where they want to play their football internationally, so I wouldn’t feel that right to step into that one, unless they ask my opinion on the footballing sense.
