Inter Milan and Slavia Praha played out a thrilling draw at the San Siro with the Nigerian youngster getting his name in the record books after an excellent performance.
Peter Olayinka has become only the fifth Nigerian to score on their Champions League debut when his well struck shot gave Slavia Prague a second half lead in a stunned San Siro on Tuesday night.
The four other Nigeria stars to have achieved that feat are Daniel Amokachi (Club Brugge), Victor Ikpeba (AS Monaco), Lucky Idahor (Dynamo Kyiv) and Yakubu Aiyegbeni (Maccabi Haifa).
Slavia were billed as the massive underdogs but Antonio Conte’s men needed an injury-time equaliser from Nicolo Barella to claim a share of the points and deny Slavia Prague a famous Champions League win at the San Siro.
The 23-year-old forward was brilliant throughout and it was his good work on the flank that freed substitute Jaroslav Zeleny, whose first-time shot was superbly saved by Samir Handanovic. Olayinka was however on hand to pounce on the rebound and turn the ball high into the net to give Slavia their shock lead.

Slavia could have added to their tally and were punished in second-half stoppage time, as Barella’s shot bounced through a crowded box and into the left-hand corner to ensure the game finished 1-1.
Peter Olayinka’s goal may have opened up Group F for the champions of the Czech Republic, a team not expected to escape from a daunting Group F that also contains Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona. Dortmund and Barcelona also played out a goalless draw.
Up next in match day 2, Inter will head to Barcelona while Slavia host Borussia Dortmund.
