Jose Mourinho has admitted he deserved to be sacked as United boss but insists the team are now worse than before following their 2-0 loss to West Ham at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Pressure is mounting on Mourinho’s replacement, Ole Gunnar Solskajer, after the Red Devils away day woes continued. The 20-time league champions have not won away since they defeated PSG in the second leg of the round of 16 champions league.
It’s a stark contrast to Solskjaer’s early days when he won ten straight games. United added new players this season, but Mourinho believes the team has regressed under Solskjaer.
Speaking as a pundit on Skysports, Mourinho admitted he deserved to be sacked, but claimed the team has not improved since he was replaced.
“I was sacked, I probably deserved to be sacked because I was responsible as the manager, but the sad reality is that they are worse than before, the former Chelsea manager said.
