Real Madrid are reportedly unsure of fighting Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar and have decided to show a keen interest in signing Tottenham midfielder, Christian Eriksen before the close of the summer transfer window.
Catalan newspaper Sport say Real are unsure whether they need the Brazil international with Bale and Rodriguez still there.
The 27-year-old has just one year left on his current deal and publicly expressed his desire to leave earlier this summer.
Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of Eriksen, who could be a cheaper alternative to £150million Manchester United ace Paul Pogba.
Soccernet.ng leanrt that the LaLiga giants will make a late move for the Dane with the Spanish transfer window remaining open until September 2.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy does not want to lose Eriksen on a free transfer next year and could cash in on the midfielder.
Eriksen started in Tottenham’s 2-2 draw at Manchester City on Saturday after being left on the bench for their opening-day win over Aston Villa.
And Bernabeu chiefs believe Levy will be open to do business.
Bale, meanwhile, nearly moved to the Chinese Super League.
But he has ultimately stayed at the club and was impressive in their 3-1 La Liga win over Celta Vigo on Saturday.
