The Toffees have never hidden their desire to retain the services of the youngster but Marco Silva side’s application for a work permit for the player was not granted by the British Home Office.

During his unveiling, Henry Onyekuru said, “I am very happy to join a big club like AS Monaco. I will give everything to progress and help the club achieve a great season. I can’t wait to get going.”

‘Prince of Monaco’ Victor Ikpeba was the most successful Nigeria star to have featured for the Principality club where he won the French Ligue 1 and was crowned CAF African Player of the Year in 1997.

Henry Onyekwuru will join the likes of Sani Kaita, Elderson Echiejile and Lukman Haruna as the other Nigeria stars to have played for Monaco.

With moves such as this for the Super Eagles’ stars, we are gradually building a team that may reach the height attained by the 90s golden generation of the Super Eagles. I can see the Super Eagles reaching the Quarter finals of the next World cup and from there anything is possible.

I agree with you totally. A Super Eagles attack that has Onyekwuru, Osimhen and Chukwueze in another 2 years can rock the world to its roots!
