With just one step away from the final, Nigeria’s Super Falcons and the Flying Eagles will be up against Algeria and Mali in the semi-final of the All Africa Games.

Still unbeaten at the tournament, the Nigerian ladies began their campaign on a shaky note after drawing Cameroon in the opener before edging South Africa and Zambia respectively. They will face Algeria on Tuesday.

The team solely comprise of selected home-based players and would be gunning for the medal.

However, Super Falcons could have their work cut out if they underestimate the Algerian ladies that lost 3-2 to hosts Morocco in their opener before pipping Mali and Equatoguineans to garner six points and claim the runners-up spot.

On the other hand, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will test their strength against Mali in the semi-final of the All Africa Games on Tuesday.

The team booked a semi-finals place in the men’s football event of the 12th All African Games following a 2-2 draw against the host, Morocco, in their last Group A match.

Before now, Nigeria managed a 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso in their opening game before defeating South Africa 2-1 in their second group A fixture.

The team will face the winner of Senegal and Burkina Faso in the final of the All Africa.
