Kenneth Omeruo’s prayers have finally been answered as Chelsea have agreed to sanction his move to the club where he spent a successful season on loan in 2018/19, making 31 appearances.
The Super Eagles defender joined the Blues 2012 from Standard Liege but found first-team opportunities hard to come by. He subsequently spent time on loan at various times in the Netherlands, Turkey, Spain and with Championship side Middlesbrough.

Kenneth had earlier expressed his desire to continue his development in Spain, with his request now granted for a reported £4.6 million fee.
“I think now’s the time for me to leave, to find a place, to be my own man,” he said. “I’m married with a baby now, so I need stability.
“Chelsea have done amazingly for me, and for my family as well, but it’s time for me to reach my potential and get where I think I deserve to be.”
The Nigerian international is a veteran of two FIFA World Cups and was a key member of the Super Eagles squad that earned a bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, a tournament he won in 2013 alongside former Chelsea stalwarts John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses.
Good. Wish you all the best. Prove yourself and come back to Chelsea. I just hope they include buy back option in the contract.
