The defender was assured on the ball, commanding in the air and tenacious in the tackle as the Tunisian forward line found the Super Eagles defense too strong to breach.

Troost-Ekong has had a fine debut tournament as Nigeria’s strongman in defense. He also got the late winner for Nigeria against South Africa.

The victory over the North Africans ensure that the Super Eagles will not leave the AFCON 2019 empty handed.

The Italy based defender immediately after the game expressed his delight in winning the AFCON bronze medal.
