Manchester United have suffered a huge blow ahead of the new Premier League campaign after it was confirmed that Eric Bailly will be out for five months due to an injury he suffered in United's pre-season win over Tottenham.
United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed this following United's win over Kristiansund in another preseason friendly.
“Eric has had an operation and will be out for four to five months,” Solskjaer said. “Hopefully we'll have him back around Christmas time.
The Foxes defender is a prime target for United, but the club has failed in their attempts to bring him to Old Trafford with Leicester holding out for a staggering 90m pounds for the England international.
The Foxes have refused to bug so far as they believe they are not under pressure to sell one of their prized assets. With Baily's injury now, United may have little or no choice than to pay the fee for the 26-year-old.
