Arsenal fans have taken to social media to shower praises on their new signing Gabriel Martinelli after he scored on his debut for the gunners in their 3-0 preseason win over Colorado Rapids.

The Gunners signed the Brazilian starlet from Sao Paulo for a reported fee of 6 million pounds and were able to get a glimpse of what he will bring next season when he was given a surprise start by Unai Emery.

Goals from Bukayo Saka, James Olayinka and the Brazilian ensured Arsenal started their preseason tour on a winning note.

However, it was Martinelli’s performance that drew praises from Arsenal fans. The Brazilian youngster missed a chance in the first half but made amends by flicking home from close range.

Speaking after the match, Unai Emery confirmed he could give Martinelli the chance to stake a claim in the first team. When asked if he Martinelli could be in his first-team plans, Emery said: Our idea is to give every young player chances to be with us, first in the training ground and after playing matches like today.

Established stars, Mesut Ozil, Pierre Emerick Aubameyanga and Lacazette also came on 12 minutes from time as Arsenal gave the Denver fans top quality.
