There were fears the deal would not go through again following Asensio’s injury in Madrid’s preseason friendly against the gunners. But those doubts have been cleared as Arsenal took to their twitter page to announce the signing of one of the brightest talents in Spanish football.

A statement on Arsenal’s website read:Β  Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos is joining us on a season-long loan from Real Madrid. The 22-year-old made 13 La Liga starts for Real Madrid last season.

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery expressed his delight at the club’s capture of his fellow Spaniard, saying he is a talented player.Β  β€œWe’re excited to see Dani join us. He is a talented player with big technical ability, creativity and precision.”

Ceballos is Arsenal’s second signing this summer after they signed Brazilian youngster Gabriel Martinelli from Sao Paulo. The 22-year-old is a Spanish international but represented the U-21s at the European Under-21 Championship where he scored two goals as Spain beat Germany to lift the trophy.

He has been given the Number 8 jersey which was previously worn by Aaron Ramsey who left the gunners for Juventus this summer.
