One of the favourites to win this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, the Teranga Lions of Senegal will tackle Tanzania in Sunday’s fixture at the 30 June Stadium.

Senegal manager, Aliou Cisse will have to avoid any element of complacency against a Tanzania side that is managed by former Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles manager, Emmanuel Amunike.

Despite parading an array of stars for the bi-annual tournament such as M’Baye Niang, M’Baye Diagne, Kalidou Koulibaly and Sadio Mane, who recently lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy with Liverpool, Senegal will be wary of Tanzania as the team is capable of causing serious shock result.

Senegal are Africa’s number one team according to FIFA’s ranking system but have never actually won the Cup of Nations. Senegal comes into the competition on form, winning their last six games, and keeping five clean sheets in the process.

However, Senegal coach Aliou Cisse is hoping his side can defeat Tanzania in their opening 2019 Africa Cup of Nations game on June 23.

“We will have to remobilise, focus on our first game against Tanzania.

“We know we are going to play a tough match against Tanzania. It will have to be approached with a lot of concentration, a lot of discipline to really win it.”

Also, Tanzanian coach Emmanuel Amuneke says his outfit will give their best in the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Egypt.
