Morocco vs Namibia: AFCON 2019 Preview, Kickoff time and Where to watch

by Augustine

in News

On paper, this fixture may be regarded as ‘walk over' game but since football is not mathematics Morocco would be expected to be on their topmost best if the team must pick the maximum point against Namibia on Sunday in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Morocco have been very impressive in terms of football in Africa, they fancy their Head coach Herve Renard who won the Africa Cup of Nations twice with both Zambia and Ivory Coast.

The country has really improved both at National level and Club level with two Moroccan clubs featuring in the finals of both CAF Champions league and Confederations Cup finals.

Playing Namibia who has no experience in this competition will be a simple task for Morocco and a win to nil remains a good and valuable option. Namibia lost to struggling Zambia 4-1 but still booked a place into AFCON group stage.

Namibians performance can be measured in the way they poorly performed at the just ended COSAFA Cup and that spell is expected to continue even at the coming Africa Cup of Nations.

Morocco vs Namibia – Head To Head

These teams last met in 2018 in an African Nations Championship fixture. The score on that occasion was 2-0 in favour of Morocco.

These two teams have played each other 2 times over the last decade. Morocco have won 2 and their opponents have won 0. There have been 0 draws.
