Goals from Ahmed Musa, Awazieme and Odion Ighalo was all the team needed to revive their hope of qualifying for the bi-annual tournament.
Nigeria are still third on 3points and next face Libya away from home in an encounter that could also decide the fate of the team.
In the Group E game, South Africa played out a 0-0 draw against Libya on Saturday, to leave both teams on four points but Libya are still on top with goals difference.
