Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho continued his goalscoring streak for Leicester City over the weekend, scoring four goals in three games.
Iheanacho was the hero for Leicester as they came from behind to beat Lille 2-1. Lebo Mothiba opened the scoring for Lille before Iheanacho brought his side back to contention with his 34th-minute header. The 21-year-old completed his brace in the 59th minute earning his side the win.
Reacting to Iheanacho’s goal, his Nigeria and Leicester teammate Wilfred Ndidi said he was surprised when Iheanacho scored with his head.
“I was even surprised he scored with his head because just yesterday we – just me and him – were practicing and playing with the head,” Ndidi said, according to Brilla.
He also praised his teammate for his recent goals saying it’ll help in boosting the team’s confidence moving forward.
“He’s getting there; because we work every day in training. The previous games also he was good and scored goals that brings confidence and I hope it continues; not just him but all the players,’ he concluded.
The Nigerian stars will be hoping to be in action as Leicester open their EPL campaign on an explosive note when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 10.
