Ex-international, Mutiu Adepoju says the Super Eagles must learn from their World Cup exit and focus more on the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Headmaster, as he was fondly called during his playing days in the Super Eagles, told Soccernet.ng that the team must translate the experience of the World Cup to the AFCON qualifiers slated for later this year.
“We have done our best at the World Cup and couldn’t make it through to the knockout stages of the competition.
“But then, lessons must have been learnt by the technical crew of the Super Eagles led by Gernot Rohr despite failing to make it through the Group stage because the Africa Cup of Nations is just around the corner.
“We must do our best to qualify for AFCON after missing out in two editions of the tournaments.”
