Football lovers in Nigeria are optimistic that the Super Eagles will qualify to the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup despite facing Argentina in a crucial encounter today (Tuesday).

Nigeria will be needing just a draw to advance to the knockout stages while hoping that Croatia defeats or draw Iceland in their final Group D game.

A visit by Soccernet.com.ng to the Teslim Balogun Stadium and Main Bowl National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, saw football fans hoping and praying that Nigeria advances ahead of Argentina today.

SEUN
“I am very sure Nigeria will beat Argentina today regardless of the threat been posed by Lionel Messi and Aguero.”

UCHENNA
“Hmmm…To be frank with you today’s encounter against Argentina will be a very difficult one for the Super Eagles but I pray that God favours us.”

AKINLABI
“I definitely believe the Super Eagles will book their round of 16 places at the World Cup today at the expense of Argentina. Quite agree that it won’t be an easy game for us but I am sure we will get a draw.”

STANLEY
“I’m expecting not just a tough game but exciting football at its best considering the fact that both teams need to at least win to book a place in the knockout stages. As a patriotic Nigerian, I tip our team to qualify.”

BUKOLA
“Ah. Though I am not football enthusiast but then, since my country is playing Argentina, I have decided to develop a likeness for the game because I want Nigeria to beat Argentina and qualify for the knockout stages.”

KINGSLEY
“One match to watch today because the Argentine team will definitely attack us like a raging storm but then, I think a draw will be enough for Nigeria to qualify.”

NWANBUEZE
“I just want to tell you that Nigeria will qualify today.*

OKUNOLA
” Argentina won’t find it easy against Nigeria today because we want to prove to them that we are better than them at the moment.”

JAMES
“Victory for the Super Eagles is all that we are craving for today and I pray God gives us this day.”

STELLA
“Up Eagles! Up Nigeria! Argentina will fall today.”
