Ivorien Playmaker, Yaya Toure has announced his decision to leave Manchester City at the end of the Current Campaign, and this has been confirmed by Manager Pep Guardiola.
The former Barcelona Midfielder is out of contract in the summer and has been told by Manchester City he will not be given a new deal.
Toure, who joined from Barcelona in 2010, will be given an emotional send-off during City’s final home game of the season against Brighton and Hove Albion next Wednesday.
The 34-year-old player has made just 16 appearances this season and has not started once in City’s triumphant Premier League campaign.
The news comes as little surprise, but it is the first time Guardiola has confirmed the end of one of the club’s greatest ever players.
“Yaya is not going to stay next season,” said the City manager. “The Brighton game, we will focus on winning for Yaya.
“We are going to try to win the game for him.”
Toure was pivotal to City’s Premier League titles under Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini.
The 34-year-old also won the FA Cup and two League Cups during his time at the Etihad.
