Super Eagles defender, Taiye Taiwo has charged the team’s Technical adviser, Gernot Rohr to continue with the team that qualified Nigeria for the World Cup in a bid to maintain a perfect understanding amongst the players.
Nigeria has been pitted alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland and just last week Thursday the team moved 47th in the latest FIFA rankings
Known for his fierce shot with the ball, the former AC Milan and Queen Park Rangers (QPR) star who was part of the Super Eagles team that crashed in the group stages of the 2002 World Cup, told a Lagos based radio station in an interview on Monday morning that was monitored by Soccernet.com.ng that he’s been impressed with the performance of the Super Eagles and would want Rohr to maintain a good balance in the team before the World Cup commences proper in June.
“I think I am impressed with the ranking of the Super Eagles last week Thursday. However, I really don’t know why we always want to invite every player to the national team whenever we have competitions like the World Cup.
“Anytime we have a game to play they will want to invite 80 players but they should continue with the set of players in order for the technical crew to know how they play.
“It is very important for Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr to stick with a set of his players and not inviting players just because a journalist said a certain player is playing well in Europe or anywhere.
“Let’s create a perfect understanding amongst these players and not the other way round.”
