Super Eagles Chief coach, Salisu Yusuf says the team upcoming international friendly match against the Three Lions of England is expected to bring out the best from the players.
The game which will be played at Wembley on June 2, will be the third time both teams will be facing each other after Nigeria narrowly lost 1-0 in an international friendly in 1994 before playing a goalless draw at the group stages of the 2002 World Cup.
However, with the team having lost 2-0 to Serbia last month, Salisu told Soccernet.com.ng that playing the Three Lions of England would definitely bring out the best from the Super Eagles players.
“It’s so sad that the team lost 2-0 against Serbia after beating Poland 1-0 in an international friendly game. But then, I certainly believe that would spur the team to bounce back to winning ways in their next game,” Salisu told Soccernet.com.ng.
“Playing against England at Wembley won’t be that easy for the Super Eagles, however, I am really confident that the players will give their best considering the fact that majority of the players play in the Premier League and they understand their style of football.
“Players such as Alex Iwobi (Arsenal), Victor Moses (Chelsea) and Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City) are playing regularly in England and should give us a tip on how to overcome them.”
