Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, Dosu Joseph has applauded the impressive performance of CS Sfaxien midfielder, Kingsley Sokari in the Tunisian League and has charged the Technical crew of the Super Eagles to look towards inviting him to the team ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Sokari who will be fondly remembered for netting from 25-yard against Korea DPR in the Flying Eagles 4-0 win at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, has consistently churned out brilliant displays in the Tunisian Ligue 1 in the ongoing season and has taken part in all but one of the games played by the club.
Yet to be invited to the Super Eagles squad by Gernot Rohr, the CS Sfaxien midfielder was recently named as the November player of the month, the first by a Nigerian player this season in Tunisia.
However, Dosu noted that despite Nigeria’s abundance of talents, Sokari deserves a chance in the Super Eagles on the basis of his performance in the Tunisian League.
“If players are judged on their performance for their clubs then,CS Sfaxien’s Kingsley Sokari should be giving the chance to prove his worth in the Super Eagles ahead of the World Cup.
“Presently, the calibre of players we have in the Super Eagles or that qualified us for the 2018 World Cup are good but then, we still need to discover few players that would add more bite and creativity to the team.
