Emerging reports suggest Premier League club Liverpool have rejected Barcelona’s second bid for Philippe Coutinho.

Barca’s latest offer was €85m (£77m) up front plus €15m (£13m) in add-ons and now Sky Sports are reporting the Kops have turned down the bid.

Liverpool have reiterated their stance that Coutinho isnot for sale and they now consider the matter closed.

The La Liga giants had a £72m bid for the Brazil international rejected in July and, having sold Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for a world-record £200m last week, turned their attentions to pursuing the 25-year-old.

Coutinho, a key figure for Liverpool since arriving from Inter Milan in January 2013, registered 13 goals and seven assists for the Reds during their 2016/17 Premier League campaign.

Jurgen Klopp on Wednesday described Liverpool as being “in a good shape” ahead of the new season but kept quiet about Coutinho’s future.

What do Barca and the Spanish press not understand about the NO word? is it the N or the O? Klopp is assembling a Liverpool team to compete with Real and Barca every season, so it is not in Liverpool's interest to sell a key component in that plan. The one fly in the ointment is Kia Joorabchian, Coutinho's representative who stands to make a lot of money from stirring up discontent and misleading Barca to go higher
