Barcelona are preparing to offer Liverpool £80m for the signature of Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.

The 25-year-old is currently linked with a sensational move to the Catalan club despite only signing a new five-and-a-half-year contract with the Reds in January.

At the weekend, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp warned that Coutinho is not for sale and he is not interested to entertain any enquiries from interested club even though he accepts that the final decision lies with the club’s management.

According to The Mirror, Barcelona offer Liverpool £80m for their star man, who has be reported to be open to a switch to the Camp Nou this summer.

Coutinho is one of the standout players for Liverpool last season as he helped them return to the UEFA Champions League, scoring 13 times with seven assists in the Premier League.

Coutinho, joined Liverpool from Inter Milan in 2013 and reminded the world of his great ability as he powered in a wonder goal against Leicester City to help the Reds lift the Premier league Asia Trophy courtesy a 2-1 scoreline.

He's gunna give LFC one more season at least…he's a stand-up guy and at liverpool he has experienced what true support is…not saying he won't go eventually but he knows if he can lead the reds to a glory season he could go with his head held high with our best wishes behind him like Luis did…if he went now he would lose respect from all quarters, including Barca fans who surely don't want another mercenary a la Neymar…so sit it out Barca, we'll deliver him to you in glory
