Nigeria’s Super Falcons Rise 34th In FIFA Rankings

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have moved 34th spot in the latest FIFA rankings that was released on Friday.

The team won the 2016 Africa Women’s Champions or a record nine times after team coach, Florence Omagbemi defeated all comers to claim the trophy as a player and as a coach.

Globally, Olympic gold winners Germany sit atop the ranking dethroning world champions second-placed USA as France retained the third position, while England overtook Canada to complete the top five. 

Italy and Czech Republic suffered the biggest slip dropping three places. And relisted on the rankings were; Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Bhutan while Jordan, Haiti, Fiji, Tonga, New Caledonia, Cuba, Congo, Dominican Republic, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Grenada, Dominica, Aruba were dropped out due to prolonged inactivity. 

The next Fifa ranking will be published on Friday, June 23, 2017.
