An attempt by Osun United to escape from Lekan Salami Sports complex with a point was scuppered by a ruthless Olaniran in the final minute of the encounter.

It was indeed a home coming for Coach Duke Udi as Oluyole warriors lurk horn with ambitious Osun United in a tune up game to fill the void occasioned by the continental engagement of Shooting Stars' opponent.

Osun United settled in well in the first few minute of the contest as the visitor broke the deadlock in the 9th minute of the encounter when Akeem Olalere skipped past few defenders to set up Damola Fakayode who provided a sublime finish.

What a Chief tormentor Lekan Bola proved to be in the evening as he combined well with Wale Adigun but the latter was badly checked, to the dismay of the referee and he signalled a freekick around 25 yard out. Oginni Olatunbosun's effort was directed toward a tight angle as Ayo Ojo was helpless to save his side.

Ibezim later Spurned furiously and he benefitted from Olalere's vision but his unleashed volley was inches wide. Enterprising Bola Lekan was in the right spot to tap in a cross from by line to restore host's lead in 25th minute.

Osun United wrestled power from imperious warrior as the referee spotted a spot kick when Suleiman's hand magnetized the ball in his own box. Olalere Akeem scored from the spot but Kayode Bankole dived in right direction.

Azuri Emana was the hosts' outlet on the counter-attack and he unleashed a wicked effort from 15 yards which drifted wide.

The chances were coming thick and fast after restart for both teams but Abubakar Mohammed and Azuri Emana were guilty of frizzling clear cut chances.

A lot of substitutes were called into actions for both teams towards the tale end of the genuine contest.

Duke Udi boys were expecting the final whistle when Olaniran took advantage of a defensive mix up and he unerringly slotted the ball past Ayo Ojo.

The goal came at a crucial time, just when visitors' bluster looked to have blown itself out. Believe and Achieve side gave good account of themselves but 3SC are good value for the win.

Osun United Chief Coach, Duke Udi spoke after the encounter thus:

“My team is work in progress and l am not disappointed with our performance today. It is an avenue to evaluate our readiness but we still have some work to do.

“We will try to work on the negatives and keep improving the squad with additional few players. We still have some time to fortify ourself with quality additions,” Chief as he's fondly called confirmed to soccernet.com.ng
