Every Nigerian Player Will Be Given Equal Chances In S’Eagles – Rohr

By Augustine Akhilomen

Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr says he'll give all Nigerian player equal opportunities of fighting for a place in the colours of the senior national team regardless of their club status.

The German born tactician who has started his managerial job in an impressive note, scaling through Tanzania, Algeria and Zambia hurdle, will face his toughest opponent against Cameroon on August 28 in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.

Still to give some Nigerian players who truly deserves Super Eagles call-up after introducing young players such as Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi, Rohr insisted that such players would be giving equal chances to express their Football talents.

“As the team and the country had been deeply affected by failing to qualify for the finals in Gabon, I wanted to bring in some younger players into the squad. This, of course, is without closing the door on anyone,” Rohr told FIFA.com.

“This is something that I wanted to help change,” Rohr said. “I also offered to accompany the local selection, even if I was not in charge of it directly. I also said I would keep an eye out for the national women's team. These are some of the things I said I wanted to do when I started in August last year.”
