Reports: Mikel to join Inter Milan

Reports in Italian media claimed that Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel will sign for Inter Milan in January.

Tuttomercatoweb.com stated that Mikel who has been frozen out at Chelsea will join the Nerazzurri on a free loan, including a non-mandatory buy-back clause, after which he might have become a free agent.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Inter may offer Mikel a deal at the end of the season when his loan deal expires. Marseille’s Lassana Diarra is the real priority for Inter but the club’s director of sport Piero Ausilio revealed yesterday that the club can only sign players on loan in January in order to stick with the FFP imposed by Fifa and Diarra is not one of those player who could leave his club on loan or for free.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr revealed on Sunday that Mikel was on the verge of joining Marseille on a free transfer, saying:“I saw him in London. He is in advanced discussions with Marseille.”
