Ghana’s Black Queens Protest Unpaid Bonuses 😭😭😭

Just like Nigeria’s Super Falcons, players of Black Queens of Ghana on Wednesday besieged the Ghanaian parliament in protest of their unpaid bonuses, which is estimated to about $25,000 per player.

The team, who finished third at the 2016 African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Cameroon, are demanding the government pay their arrears from last year’s All African Games, where they won gold; the 2016 Olympic qualifiers and at last month’s AWCON.

As a matter of fact, the team had planned to stage the protest on Wednesday, but had to shift it with the promise of Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who assured the girls that the government would pay the arrears on Thursday.

But with the inability of the government and ministry to fulfill their promises, the girls decided to embark on the protest, which is the only sure way for them to get their outstanding entitlements.
