Napoli weigh up €40m bid for Borussia Dortmund’s fufu-man with strong Nigerian ties

Italian Serie A side, Napoli, are weighing up a move for Germany and Borussia Dortmund winger, Karim Adeyemi, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 22-year-old has been one of Dortmund’s brightest talents in recent years, although injuries have consistently thwarted his progress. However, when fully fit, Adeyemi is a menace down Die Schwarzgelben‘s left-hand side.

After losing Osimhen on loan to Galatasaray last summer, Napoli are set to lose out on another of the big stars that won them the Scudetto in the person of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

As per Fabrizio Romano, the Georgian is set to join Paris Saint-German on a five-year deal for a fee of around €70m.

With space in Napoli’s attack and funds in their bank account, the three-time Serie A Champions are looking for a replacement that’ll bolster their depth up-front.

As per Transfer Feed, Antonio Conte’s side are currently looking at Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi as potential replacements for Kvaratskhelia.

It is believed that Manchester United are looking to receive a fee of around 60 million euros if they’re to part ways with Garnacho, and Napoli are unwilling to pay that fee.

Dortmund on the other hand, are willing to let Adeyemi leave for a fee of about 40 million euros, and Napoli are contemplating making a bid immediately, as their sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has highlighted the pacy winger as a crucial profile to pursue to sustain the club’s competitiveness in the heated Scudetto race.

It wouldn’t be the first time Napoli have been interested in Adeyemi. During his time at RB Salzburg, the Italian side enquired about the services of the forward, but were turned down by the Austrian club.

Adeyemi has scored five goals and provided five assists in eleven games for Borussia Dortmund across all competitions this season, including a notable hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League against Celtic.

The versatile forward was born in Munich to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother but has always kept in touch with his Nigerian side by visiting his foundation whenever he’s on holidays, and by eating Nigerian dishes.
