Leicester City new signing Ahmed Musa was again on the
winning side as he helped the premier league champions to a win against
Efe Ambrose’s Celtic in the International Champions Cup.
The 23-year-old was involved for the Foxes in their first pre-season
friendly against Oxford United replaced Demarai Gray while his Nigerian
compatriot Ambrose substituted Mikael Lustig.
The game which was played in Glasgow saw Arsenal target Riyad Mahrez
give the Foxes the lead as he pulled out his bag of tricks with clever
stopovers before placing the ball beyond Craig Gordon in goal for
Celtic.
Musa was denied a first goal for Leicester as his speedy chip was
scrabbled off the line by Celtic defenders and at the other end Eoghan
O’Connell leveled scores.
The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes but Leicester went on to win 6-5
on penalties with Ghana international Daniel Amartey dispatching the
winning spot kick with great aplomb.
Other teams participating in the Internations Champions Cup includes
Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Celtic, Chelsea, Liverpool, Inter Milan,
Milan, Real Madrid, Leicester City, and Paris Saint-German.
Leicester City’s next games will be against La Liga and Ligue 1 champions, Barcelona and Paris Saint German.
