| Barcelona celebrate La Liga and Copa del Rey win |
The Spanish football association have revealed the fixtures schedule of all teams in La Liga for the 2016/2017 season after the draw was held on Friday with FC Barcelona set to kick off their title defence at home against Real Betis.
The Catalan Giants went through a rough patch last season but still managed to win the title for the 6th time in 8 seasons. Preparations for the upcoming season are underway as the club look to win their 25th title in May 2017.
The 2016/2017 Liga season kicks of on August 21 and will run until May 21. Barça will face Real Madrid in the first Clasico of the season at the Camp Nou on Matchday 14 which is scheduled for Dec 3/4, with the return leg to be played on Matchday 33 scheduled for April 22/23, 2017.
Barça will also host Atletico Madrid on Matchday 5 before travelling to the Capital to play against Diego Simeone's men on Matchday 24.
