Adebayo Akinfenwa
Nigerian star Adebayo Akinfenwa has called for interested clubs to summit a bid for him because he is available. The 34-year-old who is officially out-of-contract after he helped AFC Wimbledon create history in yesterday’s playoff.
The 16-stone forward is, according to FIFA 15’s player rankings, the ‘strongest footballer in the world’.
Lyle Taylor opened the floodgates with the first goal before Akinfenwa scored to seal a 2-0 win over Plymouth Argyle at Wembley.
The result secured promotion to League One for AFC Wimbledon, who have never before reached the third tier in their 14-year history.
Akinfenwa told Sky Sports News: “It’s what dreams are made of. Scoring, winning. It’s a beautiful feeling. We were the underdogs – it isn’t only Leicester who can do it, we can do it too.
“There ain’t no better way to leave this club. A sidebar – I think I’m now technically unemployed. So any managers, hit me up on WhatsApp and get me a job!”
Akinfenwa’s joined Wimbledon in 2014 but his contract is not expected to be renewed at Kingsmeadow.
