Cristiano Ronaldo has given Real Madrid a Champions
League final injury scare after limping out of training following heavy
fall.
Ronaldo has been troubled by a thigh strain through recent weeks that
forced him out of the first leg of the semifinal against Manchester
City.
The 31-year old Portuguese returned for the second leg against City
and also played in the 2-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna on May 14,
scoring both goals.
The club at the time of press is yet to confirm the incident but wrote thus on its official website:
“The squad were back in training at Real Madrid City as they continue
to prepare for the Champions League final that will be played on
Saturday 28th May agaisnt Atlético at the Giuseppe Meazza (8:45pm CEST).
“Ball work was the focus of the session in which the whole squad was
present, apart from Varane who continues with his recovery process.
Zidane also called up Real Madrid Castilla players Odegaard, Marcos
Llorente and Borja Mayoral.
“In the session, that was open for the press due to the Open Media
Day, the Whites carried out combinations with the ball, ball circulation
work, pressing as well as playing a game on a reduced size pitch.” The
statement read.
