Kingsley Michael, Kelechi Nwakali and Udochukwu Anumudu scored three brilliant goals to send Katsina United back to the drawing board as they continue their buildup to the CAF Under-20 Nations Cup qualifier with Burundi in a fortnight.
Just few days after scoring against another NNL side Road Safety FC in a friendly match at the samevenue, Kingsley Michael wasted no time in registering his name on the score sheet as he ran onto a through pass from Orji Okonkwo to slam home the opening goal of the match in the 5th minute of play.
Team captain and 2015 FIFA Under-17 world cup golden ball winner Kelechi Nwakali made it 2-0 in the 52nd minute courtesy of a well taken freekick from the edge of the box while the third and best goal of the match came off the boot of winger Udochukwu Anumudu whose long range effort fromwell outside the box dropped beautifully beyond the reach of a bemused Katsina United goalkeeper to make it three nil in the 75th minute.
The visitors however pulled one back during a goalmouth scramble as striker Ibrahim Sule stretched to take the ball beyond the grasp of Akpan Udoh in goal for the Flying Eagles. The match ended 3-1 at full time making it five victories in six games for the Emmanuel Amuneke tutored side.
The Flying Eagles have so far defeated Sia-One academy 4-1, Dabo Babes 5-0, a Kaduna selected side 6-1, FRSC Football club 3-1, Supreme Court FC 1-0 and Katsina United 3-1. The only match they have failed to record a win or score a goal so far is the friendly with Dreams FC another National league side based in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital.
In all, the Flying Eagles have scored 22 goals from six matches and are looking good ahead of the May 22 CAF Under-20 Nations Cup qualifier with Burundiin Bujumbura.
