Flying Eagles beat 'over aged' Burundi Swallows 1-0

Coach Emmanuel Amuneke led Nigeria’s U-20 boys, Flying Eagles, to a 1-0 win over the Young Swallows of Burundi in a 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations second round, first leg qualifier in Bujumbura on Saturday.

Chukwudi Agor scored the match’s only goal 17 minutes from time as the Flying Eagles, made up largely of last year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup champions, dominated in all aspects at the Stade Prince Louis Rwagasore.

Accompanying official Sunday Okayi told thenff.com that the reigning African champions played against ‘grown men’ and had to rely on skill and technical superiority to keep the hosts in check.

The Flying Eagles delegation is expected back in thecountry on Monday, with the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar set to host the return leg on Saturday, 11th June.
