Nigeria star of the week celebrating after scoring a goal for his club Watford in the Premier League.
As the leagues in Europe ended over the weekend with eye catching performances, some Nigerian players abroad were on the show as their respective clubs were able to secure valuable points both home and away which ensured that they remained on course for a reputable position in the league table.
These Nigerians did not go unnoticed as we capture their performance for their respective clubs across Europe. SoccerNet Nigeria reviews the Nigerian (11) team of the week as regards to their performance in their respective clubs in Europe.
VINCENT ENYEAMA.
Was once again in action for 90minutes between the sticks for Lille as they ran out 2-1 winners over Caen away from home .He was book though in the in the 87th minutes of the game.
DOMINIC IORFA.
The Wolves youngster lasted the distance and manned the right back position well as his side Wolverampton Wanderers defeated Rotherdam United 2-1.
GBENGA AROKOYO.
The center back was in superb form as he made an assist for Demba Camera to ensure that his side Gaziantepspor avoided defeat as they drew 2-2 with Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super League.
KENNETH OMERUO.
Was in action for 90 minutes as he inspired the win from the back with a clean sheet as his side Kasimpasa defeated Osmanlispor FK 1-0.
ELDERSON ECHIEJILE.
Was on from start to finish as his side AS Monaco claimed a valuable three points away from home at SC Bastia.
ONYINYE NDIDI.
A defender but lasted the entire distance in front of the back four (defensive midfielder)as he shielded the back four well to ensure that his side Genk kept Belgium Giant Anderlecht at bay for a goalless draw (0-0).
RABIU IBRAHIM.
The midfield player was on from start to finish to help his side AS Trencin avoid defeat with a 1-1 draw at Spartak Trnava in the Slovakia-Fortuna League.
TOM ADEYEMI.
The midfielder helped his side Leeds United to victory by scoring the second and winning goal to ensure that they defeated Hull City 2-1.He lasted the distance and scored in the 45th minute of the game.
MOSES SIMON.
The Gent forward who has been in terrific form for Nigeria ended his goal drought for his club side KAA Gent as he salvaged a point at home to Zulte-Waregem as they drew 2-2.
ANTHONY UJAH.
The quality forward was at the right place at the right time to equalize for Werder Bremen as he finished from close range to ensure that the game ended in a 1-1 draw with VfB Stuttgart.
ODION IGHALO-(STAR OF THE WEEK)
He was involved in the first goal as he made a run into the box to win a penalty, he then showed composure to seal the win with the second goal of the game after the intermission with his 9th goal of the season and counting as Watford defeated Norwich City 2-0.
