Aston Villa have confirmed that Tiago Ilori has joined the club on a season – long loan from Liverpool, hours leading up to the close of the summer transfer market in England.
The 22 – year – old has struggled to break into The Reds first team ever since he arrived Anfield from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2013.
And as a result, the versatile defender was farmed out on loan first to Granada before joining Bordeaux in the 2014 – 15 campaign in order to get regular first team football.
Tiago Ilori is yet to play a game for Liverpool in the Premier League but was included in the 18 – man squad for games against Crystal Palace and Sunderland.
The London – born player represented Portugal at the European Under 21 Championship in June.[post_ad]
