The French star is set to join Barcelona in the summer of 2016 after the club reached an agreement with Juventus for his transfer according to Catalan newspaper SPORT
Barcelona and Juventus have reached an agreement on the transfer of midfielder Paul Pogba although the french youngster will join in the 2016/2017 season, as claimed by SPORT.
There was a meeting between Barcelona’s Ariedo Braida and Albert Soler and Juventus’ Beppe Marotta and Fabio Peratici in Milan and it reached a happy conclusion with both clubs reaching an agreement over the transfer of Paul Pogba.
The midfielder is the most sought-after player this summer with the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain targeting him. However, Barcelona have beaten them all to the 22-year old’s signature with the player set to join in the 2016/2017 season.
Barcelona director of sports, Albert Soler alongside Ariedo Braida agreed the terms with Marotta and Paratici, which have not yet been disclosed (some media outlets claim an agreement is still pending and has not been reached), but will see Pogba become a Barcelona player next summer.
Due to FIFA’s transfer ban, Barcelona asked that the deal not be closed until 2016, an offer which Juventus have happily accepted, as it means the star will play for one full season for them.
With this pact, everything is in place for the incoming president to close the deal later this month after the elections on July 18 and to confirm that Paul Pogba will be a Barcelona player in the 2016/2017 campaign.
Paul Pogba helped Juventus win a domestic treble last term and lost the Uefa Champions League final to Barcelona.
