The Catalan club have tied the Spanish forward to the club until 2019 which cools down speculations of him leaving Barcelona.
FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with forward Pedro Rodriguez over a new contract that will run until the summer of 2019 and have set his release clause at a whooping €150 million.
The 27-year-old’s previous deal was due to expire on June 30, 2016 and he raised up eyebrows earlier this season by admitting that he was considering a possible move away from the Camp Nou due to lack of regular playing time.
However, the talented winger has decided to commit his future to the Spanish champions after all and will sign a three-year extension in the coming days.
The Spain international came through the ranks of the Barca youth academy La Masia and has made over 300 appearances for the Catalans since making his first-team debut in 2008-09 under legendary manager Pep Guardiola.
The two-footed winger has long been linked with a move away from Spain with Arsenal and Inter Milan reportedly interested in his service.
Pedro joins fellow Spaniard Jordi Alba on the renewal list as the fullback signed a contract that will keep him until 2020.
Ever since his debut, Pedro has won five Liga titles with Barcelona so far, while also lifting the Champions League and Club World Cup twice each, as well as emerging victorious in the Copa del Rey on three occasions.
The winger has netted 11 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions so far in 2014-15 but has made just 22 starts.
