surprised to be nominated and I feel very appreciated. This award is a very
good thing for women’s football. It can really help us by encouraging other
countries to support their ladies more and treat them the same way they treat
the men.”

After winning both the Golden Boot and Golden Ball at the
2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup where she helped Nigeria to the final of the
competitions, Oshoala made the step up to the Super Falcons. In a matter of
weeks, she had cause to celebrate again.

Championship as she claimed the Golden Ball in her debut appearance at the
