Ikechukwu Uche ended his lean spell in front of goal after he struck in the 70th minute, as Villarreal defeated newly promoted Cordoba 2 – 0 on Sunday in the La Liga.
Thus, the Nigeria international now has four goals to his name, but he had not found the back of the net since October 19 prior to the encounter at the Estadio Nuevo Arcángel witnessed by around 16,000 spectators.
Cordoba first conceded in the 24th minute before second – half substitute Uche made sure the Yellow Submarine will leave with all three points with his second away goal of the season.
It should be noted that Villarreal went on to win the three matches by the same identical scoreline ( 2 – 0) each time the Super Eagles star registered his name on the score – sheet this term.
TheCastellón outfit are sixth on the table with 21 points after 13 rounds in the top – tier.
