Super Eagles star set to get first start for AC Milan in Serie A cracker against Fiorentina

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze is set to get his first start for AC Milan since coach Sergio Conceicao took over at the club, Soccernet.ng reports.

This season has been torrid for Chukwueze. Despite his impressive pre-season, he struggled to get minutes when Paulo Fonseca was coach. However, his situation has gotten worse since the turn of the year, after AC Milan employed Sergio Conceicao.

Since the Portuguese tactician took over, Chukwueze has not started any game for the Rossoneri. In fact, since the start of 2025, the Super Eagles star has only featured in nine games for AC Milan and all of them were from the bench.

Conceicao has preferred other players like Alejandro Jimenez, Christian Pulisic, and Joao Felix on the wings.

But it now seems that the Super Eagles star is set to get a breakthrough. According to Milan Xtra, Chukwueze is billed to start against Fiorentina on Saturday.

Both clubs sit four points apart, as Fiorentina are eighth, while AC Milan are ninth. And they still stand a chance of qualifying for Europe.

Samuel Chukwueze has to use this opportunity to shine at AC Milan

Samuel Chukwueze has to grab this opportunity with both hands if he wants to keep playing. The Nigerian winger is not known for producing great numbers, but he can be occasionally clutch.

If Chukwueze impresses against Fiorentina, he will put himself in Conceicao’s good books and possibly get more playing time in the coming months.
