Nice coach Franck Haise has revealed that Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi is close to reaching full fitness but may have to wait a while before returning to action, Soccernet.ng reports.
Moffi has been out of action since July 2024 due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He had to undergo surgery and has been recuperating since then.
However, in February, Soccernet.ng reported that the 25-year-old striker was close to returning to training. Moffi has since returned to training, and he has even started working with his teammates.
That has prompted talks that the Super Eagles star could soon return to game action. But Nice boss Haise believes Moffi will need more time before regaining his full fitness.
“He (Moffi) may need a bit more time but it is encouraging,” Haise said, per GFFN.
As stated earlier, Terem Moffi has already returned to full training at Nice. The next thing he needs is to reach full fitness. During the duration of his injury, he would have been unable to train as much as he used to. He would have also lost his sharpness due to lack of game action.
Once he returns to full fitness and returns to his previous levels he should be able to play again.
Unfortunately for Moffi, he returns at a good time for Nice. They are in great form, winning their last five games in Ligue 1, so it will be tough for him to break into the team immediately.
