Super Eagles: Nottingham Forest star’s market value soars 42% amid exit talks

Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has seen his market value skyrocket from €14 million in December to €20 million in March, Soccernet.ng reports.

Per transfermarkt, this means a remarkable 42% increase in his value amid growing speculation over his future at the City Ground Stadium.

The Super Eagles full-back has been one of Nottingham Forest’s standout performers this season owing to his defensive solidity and attacking contributions.

His impressive form has not gone unnoticed, with Manchester City reportedly keeping close tabs on him ahead of a potential summer move.

Yobo Endorses Aina for Manchester City

As earlier reported by Soccernet.ng, the former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo, in a recent interview, endorsed Aina’s potential switch to Pep Guardiola’s side which he revealed that the move would be beneficial for both the player and Nigerian football.

“Aina is currently one of the top three right-backs in the Premier League, and joining Manchester City wouldn’t surprise me at all,” Yobo said. “He’s an imposing defender but also an excellent attacker, something Guardiola looks for in his full-backs.”

Ola Aina’s Contract at Forest

Nottingham Forest could be set to lose Aina for free at the end of the season, with his contract expiring in June.

Reports suggest that the club is keen to extend his stay, but with interest from elite clubs, the Nigerian international may opt for a new challenge elsewhere.

Aina joined Nottingham Forest in 2023 on a free transfer from Torino, and his stellar performances have seen his stock rise significantly.

If he does leave, Forest would suffer a major blow, losing one of their most consistent players without receiving a transfer fee.

With his market value now at its highest point, the coming months will be crucial in determining Aina’s next destination.
