Two clubs table verbal offer for Victor Osimhen – Report

Two top European clubs, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, have tabled verbal bids for Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 25-year-old forward attempted to force a move away from Napoli last summer, but his €130m release clause was a stumbling block to any potential transfer.

Osimhen eventually joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan, and had his release clause reduced to €75m, and the clause can be activated, starting when the summer transfer window opens.

As per Caught Offside, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have tabled verbal offers for the 2023 CAF Player of the year award winner, with his release clause set up for a fee of €75m.

Galatasaray have already tried to secure Osimhen on a permanent deal, offering €65m to Napoli, but the 2023 Serie A winners declined the offer of Okan Buruk’s side. The Turkish Super Lïg Champions will most likely to pay Osimhen’s release clause next summer, ruling out a permanent stay in Turkey for the Super Eagles star.

Turkish journalist, Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, confirmed both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have tabled verbal contract offers for Osimhen, with both prepared to trigger his €75 million release clause.

However, Osimhen’s response to the offers was kept discreet but the next summer will be pivotal in his future with a new chapter set to unfold.

“Victor Osimhen is about to sign a deal with a world-renowned management company. In fact, a Real Madrid player is helping facilitate these discussions. This significantly reduces the chances of him staying at Galatasaray beyond June. Both PSG and Manchester United have made verbal offers regarding salary and contract length.”

“Since both clubs are willing to meet Napoli’s release clause, it will be incredibly difficult for Galatasaray to compete. A summer move looks almost certain,” Sabuncuoglu said in quotes revealed by Haber Sari Kirmizi.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are yet to impress for Manchester United, as both have struggled with the physicality of the English Premier League, hence, United’s interest in Osimhen.

PSG, on the other hand, are flying high in the French Ligue 1, in the absence of a natural striker. Le Parisien loaned Randal Kolo Muani to Juventus and have fixed their gaze on Osimhen as an ideal replacement.

However, they face stuff competition from several top clubs in Europe. Osimhen has scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 23 games for Galatasaray this season across all competitions.
