Ademola Lookman: 36-time Serie A champions keeping tabs on ₦86 billion-rated Super Eagles star

Former Italian Serie A champions Juventus are keeping tabs on Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman with a view of signing him in the summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Juventus have not been at their fiery best this season, and one of their major issues has been in the final third. Under the tutelage of former Bologna boss Thiago Motta, there has been a significant improvement from last season.

However, they have produced 41 goals in the league this season, less than two goals per game.

To solve this challenge, Juventus are preparing for an active summer that will see some players leave the club to make space for new ones.

According to Fichajes, Lookman is one of the top players on Bianconeri’s wishlist. The Super Eagles star has been a standout performer for Atalanta since joining in 2022. But he has been phenomenal since last season, becoming an important part of La Dea’s setup after helping them win the Euopa League.

His brilliance has made him a target for many top European sides like Manchester United, PSG, Chelsea, and Arsenal. Last summer, Lookman nearly left Atalanta, but the club blocked the transfer.

But this summer, La Dea might be unable to stop the 27-year-old Super Eagles star from leaving. Recall that the Super Eagles forward has just over a year left on his contract. Hence, if he does not sign an extension soon, they will be pressured to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for free at the end of next season.

According to Transfermarkt data, Lookman is valued at 55 million euros, equivalent to ₦86 billion. However, Atalanta could demand up to 70 million to sanction the transfer.

Is Juventus the best destination for Ademola Lookman?

Lookman has had a nomadic career, playing for different clubs in Germany, England, and Italy. While he would like some stability, he would also love to move to a bigger club where he can play alongside players of high quality. Of course, he will expect a significant salary bump too.

Atalanta cannot give Lookman all these. Although they are doing well in Serie A, their chances of claiming silverware are quite low.

Meanwhile, PSG, who were interested in getting the Super Eagles star’s services last summer, now have Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. So they do not need him anymore.

Juventus will offer Lookman more money, but the club is still figuring things out after struggling in recent years. Lookman is an England lad, and that could play a big role in his decision.

Despite multiple tries with Fulham and Everton, he has never succeeded in the Premier League. As such, he would likely prefer a transfer to a top English club.
