“My guy” – Victor Boniface breaks silence as Al Nassr move collapses

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has reacted amid reports that his proposed big-money move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr has fallen through, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian forward was heavily linked with a move away from Bayer Leverkusen following the exit of Brazilian striker Anderson Talisca to join Jose Mourinho’s army at Fenerbahce SK.

However, recent reports have confirmed that Boniface will not be heading to Saudi Arabia to join Cristiano Ronaldo on a €15 million per-year salary package.

Amid these transfer rumours, Boniface, who had been silent on X (formerly Twitter) since speculation about his future emerged, broke his silence to show support for his teammate Nathan Tella during Bayer Leverkusen’s UEFA Champions League clash against Sparta Prague.

Tella, Boniface’s compatriot and club teammate, found the net during the match, prompting Leverkusen’s official X account to share the moment. In response, Boniface commented, “My guy,” to show support for the Super Eagles winger.

In the 64th minute of the game, Tella extended Leverkusen’s lead, slotting home a rebound to make it his second goal of 2025 in seven appearances.

Meanwhile, Boniface is set to resume training tomorrow ahead of Leverkusen’s Bundesliga clash against Gift Orban’s Hoffenheim on Sunday.
