Napoli chief reveals Victor Osimhen’s stance amid Galatasaray links

Napoli Sporting director Giovanni Manna has stated that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will not leave Galatasaray until the end of the season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray from Napoli in a season-long loan last summer after struggling to get a big move. He was expected to move to a top Premier League club, with Chelsea and Arsenal in the mix, but they failed to present a satisfactory offer.

After the close of the transfer window, the Super Eagles striker was dropped from Napoli’s squad, forcing him to go somewhere else for game time.

His move to Galatasaray was one of the biggest events that happened in Turkish football last year, and he quickly became the poster boy for the reigning league champions.

So far, Osimhen has contributed 13 goals and five assists in 16 appearances for the Lions.

Due to his impressive performance at Galatasaray, the speculations around Osimhen’s future have not stopped.

In the past two months, the 26-year-old hitman has been heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United. This is as the Red Devils are looking to make some changes to their squad to fit into Ruben Amorim’s playing style.

However, it appears that any club that wants to sign Osimhen will have to wait until next summer. This is as the Nigerian striker has told Napoli chief Manna that he is happy at Galatasaray and wants to stay there until the end of the season.

“I made a promise to Galatasaray, I am very much happy here. The fans love me very much, I cannot leave them. If the teams that made me an offer in May still want me, we will sit down and talk again,” Osimhen reportedly told Manna.

Unlike last summer, Osimhen’s price could be around €80 million by next summer. But in the meantime, he will be looking to keep scoring goals and help Galatasaray to their fourth straight Super Lig title.
